The eyes are a very, very important thing on a character..

 

FEMALE EYES

In anime, female eyes tend to be drawn bigger and have bigger eyelashes. Though some female characters have smaller eyes. It all depends on the character's personality. The eyes really tell you something about the character.

MALE EYES

In anime, male characters tend to have smaller eyes. Though some males have medium eyes, which happen to be the nicer characters.

Here's a tip on the eye size... the bigger the eyes, the more playful the character.. ^.^
